Our Unknown Soldier: "Now your home mate"..
The entombment of Australia's unknown soldier on 11 November 1993 at the Australian War Museum in Canberra was a significant and highly emotional occasion for all Australians, many of whom had waited decades for the event. The remains were recovered from Adelaide Cemetery adjacent to Villers-Bretonneux - where Australian soldiers won a great victory on Anzac Day 1918. The body was brought home on a specially chartered Qantas flight, with the jet renamed 'Spirit of Remembrance' for the trip. We at Spirit are honoured & proud to carry our name: "Spirit of Remembrance".
