NEW! Exclusive Luxury small group tour staying in luxury accommodation in Arras: "La Corne d'Or" (*This is an ideal tour for extended family or discerning small group of friends.)
Staying at "La Corne d'Or" in Arras. La Corne d'Or" is an elegant 18th century mansion built on the foundations and immense cellars of a previous 13th century house; it has since been renovated meticulously over the past few years and is now a stylish and very elegant  'boutique hotel' with an excellent reputation.

"La Corne d'Or" has 5 rooms for its guests; 2 bedrooms, 2 suites with sitting rooms, and a large loft, all of which have comfortable modern bathrooms en suite with either showers or bath/showers – and the Suite Nature has a large spa bath. All guest rooms have flat-screen satellite TV sets, radio/CD player, and free Wi-Fi access.

As this beautiful property has just been acquired for our Platinum Centenary 2018 Villers-Bretonneux Anzac Tour, we are still in the process of putting the deluxe itinerary together for the tour. It is however intended it will encompass 2 nights at a deluxe hotel in Paris or Lille and 3 nights at "La Corne d'Or", an experienced SoR battlefield guide throughout, luxury small coach, meals at top French restaurants and a helicopter tour over the battlefields (tentative) plus other top luxury inclusions. For more information until the tour is finalised and released - please contact us for further details as they come to hand.

The Flanders Poppy - The Spirit of Remembrance About the Anzac Day Battle at Villers Bretonneux, April 25 1918: (link)

The Flanders Poppy - The Spirit of Remembrance 2018 - and the centenary of the historic 2nd Battle of Villers-Bretonneux on Anzac Day, 2018, when the Australians forever changed the course of WW1 and *saved Amiens. (It was also the first tank to tank battle of WW1.) *The German High Command worked out that if they captured Amiens, (the major city of the Somme) then push quickly to the coast they would split the Allied Forces in half and win the war - or at least sue for peace on their terms. Their first major offensive had actually reached to within ten miles of Amiens, before being stopped at Villers-Bretonneux.

Brigadier General Grogan VC, who saw the attack on Villers-Bretonneux, described the successful Australian counter attack by night at short notice across unknown and difficult ground as "perhaps the greatest individual feat of the war". The Allied Supreme Commander, Marshal Foch, referred to the "altogether astonishing valiance" (valour) of the Australians.

Come with us on one of the most auspicious and historic centenary remembrance events in the history of Australia. Advance interest in the event is already intense, with thousands already making plans to attend this 'once in a lifetime' event along with dignitaries and heads of state from all over the world. Accommodation space is already most limited for attendance at this very special event. We would be delighted if you can join us for this 'once in a lifetime' event, honouring the heritage of all Australians.
